I appreciate the Bear Creek K-8 teachers, students and families very much.  Hang in there.  I believe all of us are doing the best we can.  This has been a tough time as we continue to try to stay healthy.  Thank you for your patience with remote learning.  I promise that every person at Bear Creek K-8 has been trying to do his or her best with remote learning.  It has been a challenge.  And we are almost finished.  It is time to start wrapping up this school year.

Tuesday, 5/12/20, is our medication pick-up.  The schedule for medication pick-up is based on your child's last name.

A - H  9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

I - P  11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Q - Z  1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Our Pick-Up and Drop-Off days are Tuesday and Wednesday during the last week of school.  Families will pick-up personal belongings, school materials, and pictures.  If you ordered a yearbook, we are sorry that the yearbook order is delayed.  We hope to receive the yearbooks the first week of June.  When we receive the yearbooks, we will communicate our plan to distribute them.  For the drop-off, please return library books and textbooks.  We want all kids who are returning to Bear Creek K-8 next year to keep any technology that you borrowed.  If your child is not returning to Bear Creek K-8, please return any technology that you borrowed.  Our Pick-Up/Drop-Off schedule is as follows.

Tuesday, 5/19/20, 9:00 - 11:00  >  Kindergarten & 1st Grade

Tuesday, 5/19/20 1:00 - 3:00 > 2nd & 3rd Grades

Wednesday, 5/20/20, 9:00 - 11:00 > 4th & 5th Grades

Wednesday, 5/20/20, 1:00 - 3:00 > Middle School (6th, 7th and 8th Grades)

Many families have paid fees for classes and experiences that did not occur.  Our district is working out a plan to either refund these fees or transfer them into accounts for next year.  This process is going to take some time.  I appreciate your patience as we wait for further word on how Jeffco will refund fees.

Our community garden is open.  Because of the covid-19 restrictions, only two individuals or one family unit is allowed in the garden space at a time.  We have a SignUpGenius for gardening times on our website.  Our head gardener, Mary Kate McDonald, has arranged for Jared's Nursery to drop-off a load of new dirt next week.  If you plant any seeds, please make sure to label where and what you planted so that we do not plant on top of each other!  There will be seeds available in a large bin that will be under the bench.  Thanks to all of our community gardeners.

We will be hosting an eighth grade drive-in continuation on Friday, 5/22/20, at 5:30 p.m.  I will send the eighth grade families more information about continuation very soon.

Thank you and please let me know if you have any questions or if you need anything.
